Internet and Email

Webpage

A web page is a Document commonly written in HTML that is accessible through the    internet or other network using a browser. A web page    is accessed by a URL address and many contain text, Graphic, hyperlink etc are linked to other page.

OR,

A web page is a web document that is suitable for the world-wide-web.   

Website

A website is a set of related webpages typically served from a single web domain

Web-server

Web server are computer that process request or host to distribute information for the users or WWW


Protocol

It is the special set of rules for a communication connection use when they communicate.
Or,

Its is set of rule, means that how to transfer data from one place to location to other.

Or,
It is Rules of  network protocol include guidelines that regulates the characters of network- access method, allow physical type of cabling, and speed of data transfer.


Types of Protocol
TCP/IP: Transmission Control Protocol
FTP: File Transfer Protocol
SMTP: Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
POP: Post Office Protocol 
HTTP: Hyper Text Transfer Protocol


URL

URL it is the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.


Search Engine


search engine is really a general class of programs, however, the term is often used to specifically describe systems like Google, Bing and Yahoo! Search that enable users to search for documents on the World Wide Web. 


What is Web browser  And its Type?

Web browser is a software application used to locate, retrieve and display content on the WWW including webpage,image, video etc

Types of Web browser:
Google chrome
Opera
Mozilla Firefox
Comodo Dragon
UC browser
Rockmelt  


WWW
Abbreviated for World Wide Web is a system of internet servers that support specially formatted documents. The documents are formatted in a markup language called html (hypertext transfer protocol) that support links to other documents, as well as graphics, audio, and video files.

URL
It stands for uniform resource locator is a standardized naming convention for addressing documents accessible over the internet or intranet.

Differences between Website and Webpage.



Web Site
Web Page
A website is a set of related Web pages typically served from a single web domain.
A web page is a web document that is suitable for the website on world-wide-web.   
It has larger size than webpage
It has smaller size than website.
It has a main URL.
It has sub URL.
It consist of many topic. 
It usually consist one or two topic Information.
Example : www.fb.com, www.google.com
Example: www.facebook.com/messages/  , www.google.com/search?q=facebook




Differences between Static Website and Dynamic Website 

Static Website
Dynamic Website
Standard HTML pages are static webpages.
Standard HTML but also uses Javascript, PHP and JSP are dynamic websites.
Contains HTML code.
Contains “server side” code, which is unique.
Extension used are “.htm” or “.html”
Extensions used are “.php”, “.asp”, “.jsp”.
Quick to develop.
Not quick to develop.
Cheap to develop and host.
Expensive to develop and host.
No updating and instantly adding is possible.
Updating is possible and easier.
Contains fixed number of pages.
Can create webpages dynamically.
  

Differences between Internet and WWW

Internet
WWW
The internet is the connection of computers all around the world.
This is the collection of Website and webpages on the internet.
This is independent of WWW.
It depends upon internet to work.
Its year of origin: 1969
Its year of origin: 1993
First version of internet was ARPANET.
First version of WWW was NSFnet.
It is governed by internet protocol.
It is governed by hypertext transfer protocol.
Its nature is hardware.
Its nature is software.
